Question:

Serious sciatic nerve pain during pregnancy?

has anyone had this? what did you do to help relieve it? and did it affect your labour and delivery at all? any experiences would be greatly appreciated. I have the bad kind, it affects both sides of my body, though primarily my right. sitting or laying down or walking, I can feel it. nothing works to soothe the pain, only very warm baths, but I can't be in the tub all day!!! and even then, it usually comes back once the temperature in the tub goes to lukewarm.

I'm concerned about labour, as being in any position seems to be painful. I cannot really recognise any pelvic pressure, if there is any right now, as the pain in the back of my thighs and upper legs are distracting and overwhelming.

yes, I've been to the doctor for it, he suggested hot compresses, and laying on the opposite side of the one that hurts, and stretching. none of these things do anything.

  1. OMG  that pain alone is preventing me from getting pregnant again!!!  and i am so sorry to report this but i had the pain untill the day my daughter was born...as far a during delivery...i had a repeat csection...(nothing to do with the pain)...the only hope i can give you is that you will not be pregnant forever...i know it may seem that way especially if you are in the last trimester...and when the baby does come out..you will have a beautiful little one!  and you can go on minus the sciatica nerve pain!  also my doctor said i could take tylanol if i thought i needed it...just plain tylanol...but i would ask first..
