I work at Ponderosa and I get sick of these families coming in , chowing down on unhealthy food. The kids eat more food than the parents, plus they eat alot of dessert.

When I was young, my mom worked two jobs and she MADE time to cook a healthy meal for me. Most of it consist of fresh vegetables and fish. I'm just sickened on how the average American eats.

  1. it really does suck. many people just dont get up and go for a run anymore. over the past few years, we have concentrated our efforts to become less active, like expensive DVD players and other things. plus, when kids are young, they dont really care what they eat as long as they have something. they could also adopt habits from their parents, and if they are bad ones, well, then they might have some trouble adapting when they realize their mistakes.

  2. With the attitude that you have you should just quit your job.  Some families need a night out  without a restaurant employee looking down on them!

  3. I rarely ever eat fast food.

    But yeah,

    America is fat.

  4. Well your mom was a saint then. Most mom's are tired after work and their children and husbands don't help with dinner.  Did you?

  5. Then why do you work at a fast food restaurant, irony?

And most families just wanna get out for a night and eat unhealthy things, I know Im a major health food eater/wholefoods employee, but i still get the occasional mcdonalds crave.

  6. i dont care for ponderosa much, ive never had dinner there but the lunch wasnt very good and the breakfast buffet offered alot of about 6 things though that could just be in orlando. i love mcdonalds but im a teenager its fast and cheap and good. so yeh thats probably why most other people do appart from not having time to cook

  7. I'm with you.  It's kinda disgusting watching some people eat at restaurants.  It's really sad that moms these days feel they can't take time to cook healthy meals for their kids.  My mom was also a working mom, but we had a home cooked meal every night (and she had 4 kids--so no excuses ladies).  Some women just feel that they're entitled to "me time," and they get that by taking time away from family.  It's a sad state of affairs, but this is the way America is heading.

  8. Because it is easy.  But you knew that answer, right?

You should get a new job if it bothers you that much.

  9. That's funny you say that. Obviously, you don't think big time restaurants have a lot of calories, and fat. You must be joking, right??

If I order a pizza at Olive Garden which is so called non-fatting food, I can rack 1800 calories if I eat the whole thing. Add a breadstick, and that's around 2000 calories. I didn't even eat the salad yet, or add on the drink.

I don't even consider Ponderosa a fast-food place. They have a buffet, and they bring food out to you when it's ready. That is a buffet place which is more like a restaurant. Fast food is Mcdonald's, KFC, Boston Market, Wendy's, Taco Bell, Dairy Queen, Burger King, .

Places that cost more money get you more calories, and fat. It's a never winning battle I try to fight for fast food places just like I fight for carnivals. People believe what they want to. They don't want to hear the truth. Fast food places have a bad reputation because people are buying the EXTRA VALUE MEAL, and don't consider that as a BIG meal.

They think it's just lunch, and that's it. So, they eat a LARGE DINNER, and fast food is the place to blame now. The EXTRA VALUE meal is around $6.00. Why do you think it is so much money?? Who says you have to buy the extra value meal. I buy Double Cheeseburgers, and McChicken. I don't care for the fries. They go to a big-time restaurant, and they feel that they are full, and don't eat anything after it.

It's not the same thing for Mcdonald's. We have to have the big steak after we had that enormous meal. They are giving you big fries, a big sandwich, and a big coke. Isn't obvious that it's a lot of calories? You are getting the extra value meal!!! It's around 1000.

This is Ruby Tuesday which is the GREAT non-fast food place!! http://www.calorieking.com/foods/calorie... This is with NO SIDES, and NO DRINKS! Obviously, it's more healthy. Duh????
