Question:

Seriously, what's so bad about the state of the U.S.?

Outside of the fuel costs, which can be blamed on EVERY administration since the 70's. Including Reagan, Carter, Bush 1 and 2 and Clinton. We should have been drilling for decades now. So you can't blame it on the current admin. Because of the oil problem the economy isn't great but it would be if there were no oil prices.

Although I agree with the Iraq war I know some will say that that is a problem so don't bother saying it.

But besides those two issues what's really wrong with current conditions?

Obama and his wife have NO reason to think the US is a "mean country". They have a good life....no reason to complain. They are an example of what one can accomplish in this country no matter what race you are.

Thanks

  1. The "sky is falling" stuff you are hearing is the news media's effort to elect a Democrat in November.  The media did exactly the same thing (fabricated reports of a recession) in 1992 and it worked.  The media tried the opposite in 2000 when they campaigned for Gore and did not mention the Clinton-adminsitration stock-market crisis until the day George Bush was confirmed as President.  CNN actually blamed Bush for the collapse of the NASDAQ, even though he wasn't yet in office and the market collapse started in April of 2000.

That doesn't mean there aren't problems that need to be addressed, and it's clear we are just now starting back "up the slope" of the economic cycle.  However, the sky is not falling.

  2. You must be blind and deaf look at this mess this country is in all because of a greedy *** oil lover bush could have been drllling here instead of buying that high *** oil its called a deal at the table you give me this and i'll allow you to do that if thats not caring about the american people  i don't what is a good life please every thing a black person has they had to fight like h**l for it from freedom to the right to vote to the right to be treated human and now guess what russia is now doing to the europreans what they came here and did to the native americans &blacks GOD said you reap what you sew so here it is plain and simple so your blind america has very bloody hands just not to the european whites but shake down time is here!!

  3. Energy's costs and it's availability is affecting every of aspect of our nations our economic fabric. Food costs for some items has risen more than 73% since last May. Overall food prices have risen on average 34%.  Our balance of payments are at a record of  $765 B annual deficit. The Peoples Republic of China holds more than $3 trillion dollars of our public debt. How do we ever repay if I money is so weak.  Crooks abound on Wall St., speculators drive up the costs of all of commodities. No one is prosecuted, banks are failing and they expect the taxpayers to bail them out. Both political parties are being bribed every day "big time" by lobbyists and political action groups. Minimum wage people are barley able to feed their families and most require public assistance ie welfare, food stamps. Oh and as mentioned that little conflict in the mid east is eating another $700+ B a year. Admit tingly we must have the dumbest people in the nation running our government. That's just a few of the problems facing of once proud nation. Lets not mention illegal immigration. Just a thought.

  4. We have plenty of money left at the end of the month? I don't think we can afford Obama's new taxes.

    INCOME TAX

    MCCAIN (no changes)

    Single making 30K - tax $4,500

    Single making 50K - tax $12,500

    Single making 75K - tax $18,750

    Married making 60K- tax $9,000

    Married making 75K - tax $18,750

    Married making 125K - tax $31,250

    OBAMA

    (reversion to pre-Bush tax cuts)

    Single making 30K - tax $8,400

    Single making 50K - tax $14,000

    Single making 75K - tax $23,250

    Married making 60K - tax $16,800

    Married making 75K - tax $21,000

    Married making 125K - tax $38,750

  5. How about the fact that it is becoming a Plutocracy? The dollar has half it's value over the Euro. How about our lack of a viable alternative energy plan, an ever growing government debt with no end in sight. Never mind the war in Iraq but how about the countless billions spent over their that cannot be accounted for? How about the Housing debacle as a result of Republican attitude of deregulation or self regulation, whatever they're calling it. I could go on and on. These guys made Watergate look like a minor infraction. If you don't know what's wrong you must have a sweet job.

  6. We should have realized that oil was a finite resource and proceeded forward with alternative research 30 years ago...not more d**n drilling...... to maintain your damned lifestyle. Addicts have to be weaned off the drug not given more and more and more...its futile.

    Here are SOME issues:

    - effective ending of habeaous corpus

    - new fisa law protecting telecoms from prosecution, retroactively, for breaking the then current laws....corporate socialism?

    -looming health crisis

-disenfranchisement of minority voters....with laws being broken, ever heard of "CAGING"(but of course no crime committed)

    -a stretched, and worn military

    - creation of a private militia (blackwater)

    - war profiteering"no bid contracts" (haliburton, brown and root, blackwater...on and on) - more corporate socialism

-EPA scientist gagged on environmental problems

    - corporate polluters allowed to pollute more with the double speak "clear skies initiative"- more corporate socialism

-Our food is legally tainted with hormones, antibiotics, and petro-chemical poisons (used to kill weeds and bugs)

-huge deficits being financed by foreign countries like China - this cannot continue forever

-the dollars value forced to extremely low levels

    - a populace more concerned with Brittany Spears latest escapade than gov corruption

    - corporate bailouts for the mortgage industry...not homeowners (this is corporate socialism)

    - more signing statements  than all other presidents combined. (I'll sign this bill into law, BUT  I as president do not have to follow it)

-an executive branch lying to and manipulating congress into an unnecessary war

-war crimes committed in our name...white phosphorous, spent uranium, detainee torture and abuse, Falluja

    - a legislature controlled by the "opposition" party who is complicit with these crimes, and that is guilty of not performing its constitutional duty

    - a corporate media complicit with these crimes as well, almost nothing more than a propaganda machine, being manipulated and used by the bush crime family

    - a tanking economy (possible depression)

You see, your kind has driven our country to this doom...and you do not even know, or care about any of it.  bush will be known as the man who brought AMERICA down. The only good thing about this is that all YOU smug, asinine, amoral  rethuglicans with your spineless democrat supporters will suffer thru this just as I and my family will. God help us all

  7. Mmmm, while I do not think the state of the U.S. is horrible like the media and many claim, I think it is positioned to put us in a bad situation.

The oil problem shouldn't be focused around drilling so that we can get more oil.  Oil is a finite resource like anything else on this planet. The problem with oil should be focused around using less of it. It is not an issue that the government alone should take care of and fix for us. We need to be responsible consumers and use oil maturely and efficiently.

I was originally for the Iraq war. Saddam bluffed, we called, and for some reason were the a$$holes. Wtf?  But, things habe changed.  For the most part, the Iraqis have proved to be incapable of picking themselves up by their boot straps, and we need to stop pouring lives, money and time into the cause. They fumbled the ball, s***w 'em.

  8. You must be going through life with blinders.

We have eliminated the majority of manufacturing and that in turn has

done away with all too many jobs.

Donate some of your time to help the poor and you will see how their

numbers keep growing and growing and growing.
