  1. it goes over the side of the washer...

  2. LOL- I dunno but if you see any of mine while you're searching can you please give me them:-)

    thank you.x

  3. I wish I knew! I just folded laundry and I had 3 - not 1 but, 3 - socks that was missing a match! Man, I hate when that happens.

  4. If you can answer that one my friend you must know the secrets of the universe! Or maybe there's a singles club for socks somewhere; maybe they are on a break; or divorced!

We should start a "sock swap", what do you think?

  5. Through the plumbing (if you're lucky) and out to either you sewage line or septic tank.  My septic guy found some there when my tank was pumped.  He couldn't explain how they got there, though. :(

  6. In another dimension - or "sock heaven" for all the christians lurking here.

  7. You'v either put the odd one somewhere and forgot or, if you've put both socks in the washing machine, one of the pair has got caught 'in the drum'. It usually turns up amongst your next wash.

There does seem to be a bottomless pit where socks disappear.

  8. Probably somewhere in your house, there small so there easy to drop/lose.

  9. Seriously...they go one of two places.

    1) is under the agitator paddle. Socks are small enough to slide beneath the paddle, in that tiny opening you can probably feel with your fingertips. I pry mine up periodically and can usually find half a dozen socks wrapped around the rod.

    2) secondly, socks are very staticky, and will cling to the inside of sleeves, pant legs, against towels, and sheets. If the item isn't something that's worn or used a lot, it could be months before you come across it. I've found socks tucked up in winter coats, in trouser legs, and folded up in winter blankets.

  10. Under the bed , on the bedroom floor , stuck inside the machine or even eaten by the dog (happens all the time in our house)

  11. Into the porthole in the basement from the Amityville Horror

  12. Sometimes my socks don't even make it to the machine in a pair, as I end up dropping one on the stairs as I bring a huge bundle of clothes to be washed, down in my arms.  I have found the odd sock stuck in the sleeve of a top whilst hanging it on the line to dry.  Sometimes one will remain stuck to the side of the drum when you take the washing out of the machine.

  13. I'm pretty sure there's a sock monster - much like santa claus, or the easter bunny.
