  1. Seriously, there are so many other threads that are still open. Have you found something new other than pointing out the same old point over n over.

  2. EVERYONE knows that they aren't 16, but if people want to keep going on like they are Oh well, they will just get away with it. But I bet in 2012 they won't.

  3. Cant find the link to now, but I read somewhere earlier that they actually had documentation that one of the girls is 14 at the most.   But, the Olympics commitee's policy is that a passport is all the proof they need, and they provided that.

Even if they were underage, those girls that were there were still the best gymnastics team in the world tonight.   Cant take that away from them.  But it is definitely somethign that should be addressed and corrected before the next Olympics.

  4. No way.

  5. According the the credentialing committee, the Chinese girls are of age to compete (14 and older).  I do not believe for one minute that most of those girls are older than 12.  They might have the proper paperwork, but it's s sham!  No, I don't buy it.  If the girls are over 14, then I am Jiminey Crickett in an oyster shell, playing "Beyond The Sea" on a tuba.

  6. They did look very young...maybe just taking very good care of themselves and just small framed.

  7. no way, if you look closely they don't even look older than 15.

  8. Yes. China trains its gymnasts from as young as 4years old. Haven't you watched documentaries or read any books on them? Seriously, you should.

  9. They do look very young don't they? But I do. Under blind faith that they're asian. Because I had to go through years where people think i'm 6 years younger than I really am, questioned when i entered an age-limit piano competition, and carded at every restaurant.

  10. I haden't really thought about the tooth thing until now, but yeah that makes it even more obvious. I think maybe three of them were 16, but three of them were deffinately at most 14.

  11. Absolutely not!!!  i think they are between 10-14.  They are too small and look like they have not even gone through some sort of puberty

  12. I believe they were 16. Why?

I'm surrounded by Chinese people and every single one of them looks younger than their actual age. I know a Chinese girl who's 28 and wasn't let into a bar because they thought she was 18.

The government is shady but the real connection to the misconception of the actual age comes from cultural difference. That being Caucasians tend to have their body develop much faster than Orientals so their judgment on age is off by years.

  13. hellll noo! they seriously look like they're 12 or 13. they're so small, they like..fly.  but i dont think that any 16 year old are just losing their baby teeth haha.

  14. No

They won, but they will always look at that Gold differently than other competitors

  15. I don't know if you know this, but there is a search option. And this question has been asked about 20 times.

They won, get over it. Despite being less experienced with less power/muscle, their technique and execution was wonderful enough for them to win first place.

  16. I can't believe the missing tooth issue is posed over and over again. Why can't some people/media do a simple search to settle this question. That was a huge suspicion for me too. But to settle it all, this is a documentry i found on preparing for the olympics, this was way before deng linlin was even known to the world. see 6:55 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aWRArhc7Y...

she has the same gap or "missing tooth"! who knows if these girls are 16 or not, but hopefully that missing tooth won't be the evidence anymore.

  17. Yeah I was thinking the same thing. They look like they're 7 or 8.

  18. Seriously, there has been so many questions just like that. Instead of posting a new one, just read the other ones -.-

Anyways it's kind of pathetic for the U.S. to lose to people so calling the Chinese girls "underaged" The U.S. lost to 10 year olds.

  19. Only a blind person would believe that.

  20. h**l, no.

  21. I cant believe it for a second, and its sad that the americans are getting ripped off for it.

  22. Bela Karoli said they were 13/14 at most.  They look like the are 10.  Bella said the Chinese goverment had created false pasports for them...what a travisty.  Dana

  23. One of them looks 9 YEARS OLD! I know a 9 year old when I see one. There is no way she is 16. I wouldn't even let them pass for 14. It's cheating and unfair. When they are younger they are more flexible, shorter, less afraid of damage. If I were a judge I would DISQUALIFY them. I would make them send in other gymnasts. It is so unfair and it is proof that their government is shady.

    =[

  24. never in my life would i believe it

  25. no because they lipsynced their ID's

  26. I was talking about this with my girlfriend. The first one who competed on the floor competition was no older than 11 tops!

  27. its impossible there not 16 years old

  28. heck no. i mean yes, being a gymnast stunts your growth hugely and most of those girls prolly haven't even gone through puberty cuz of being gymnasts, but still. she has such a baby face. she looks (from her face) like she's 11 or 12. and besides, i don't trust the chinese. i mean, that little girl who sung at the opening ceremony was lip-sinking because the real little girl who was singing didn't look cute enough. i mean COME ON. that's pathetic. they're obsessed with being perfect and i wouldn't put it past them to cheat in order to get there.

  29. The IOC and FIG have no backbone and so they won't enforce their rules

  30. You make an interesting point! I was watching with my 10 yr old son and we were almost certain that the girl in question had to be younger than him!

  31. Yes they are 16.  It is all about the genetics.  American and Chinese girls do not develop at the same rate.  Therefore they look much young when compared to the typical American 16 year old.
