Jesus is the only son of God

Jesus being crucified and risen..means we are adopted/graphted into the family of God.

At some point, we had to be begotten of someone other than God

WHO WAS IT?

and

If Adam had to be adopted/graphted into the family of God... why did God create him in his image?

Why would God create a child that he had to adopt? Is that even possible?

  1. He created us, we left Him and became the worlds in a sense. Christ came to bring us back to  Him. To reconcile us with God.

  2. Jesus is not the only son of God. God acknowledges some people as His own, not all. God created Adam not in His looks but in His  holiness and righteousness. God don't adopt and it's impossible.

  3. Look up Star Seed on google. Maybe that'll help you.

  4. you see the problem is you are looking at this with a logical mind

  5. For an ignorant non-Christian - please could you, or someone, explain where the idea of being adopted/grafted into the family of God comes from?  Is that in the New Testament?  I don't recall learning about it at school (in the UK, in my era, everyone had to do a good deal of so-called 'Religious Education' which meant Christianity, unless opted out by parents).

I do, however, see that there is a problem in calling Jesus the 'only-begotten son' of God, as it does imply that the rest of us aren't the sons and daughters of God.

EDIT:  WHERE in the New Testament?  Honestly, I'm not going to read all the way through to try to find this one bit!

EDIT 2:  Wood Uncut - thank you for providing a link, but these verses don't seem to address my question - where is the bit about being 'adopted' or 'grafted'?

  6. God created us all but when Christ died/rose we who believe this became family with God.

Adam already had a close personal relationship with God until he tossed it away.

  7. My teacher states that there is no such person as the one and only son of God for if that were so it would rule out all of humanity would it not? you and your brothers on earth are All 100% sons of the one God for and of All mankind. For extra information and wait for it ... the one we call the Master Jesus is alive and well and is based in Rome, but his needs take Him to America. We can see just why that is so necessary now more than ever. His Master the Christ/ Lord Maitreya, the World Teacher, is also well known to be seen in America and all over this world prior to His Emergence...it is taking place even as I write this note, so watch and wait and pray Amen and Om Shantih

  8. You just gotta love that someone has told you "you're still thinking too much"

Stop that evil thinking!  Just accept what you're told!  Don't question!

Careful - you might just think your way clear of the mythology...

  9. A) Human beings physically come into being the way any other mammal comes into being. Mommy's egg and Daddy's (hopefully her husband) sperm get introduced somewhere in the Fallopian Tube, their gene packages make out like gangbusters and pretty soon there's a brand new cell that shares those genes from Mommy and Daddy and is on its way to being a trillion cells and an adult human being.

    B) That of us which God "adopts" through baptism is the soul, which He creates (NOT begets. Christ is the ONLY begotten child of God) and infuses into that brand new one-celled human being.

    C) He has to adopt us because once we are infused into that new body we lose the supernatural gift (eternal life with him) He gave and we lost at the Fall (whatever and whenever that was). But we get it back through baptism. What we choose to do with it is up to us. Our free will takes precedence, by a free act of His will, over His wishes.

    D) Try looking at it this way. God fathers us. We get put with another father who raises us and thinks of us as his own. But, our REAL Father wants us back with Him. He's willing to wait (for a lifetime, if needbe), but He wants it official, that this is HIS kid. So we're baptized and that's a form of adoption. But it's our real parent who's now adopting us to make His legacy to us legit. God invented legal too, you know. And at its best we do a pretty decent job there of doing it His way. (Unlike politics, which we manage to botch very thoroughly most of the time)

    Hope this helped.

  10. You don't need to know all this to live your life.

Look within yourself for your answers and say no to religion. It is a crock.

  11. The term "begotten" essentially means "of the same substance as".

The Son of God is made of "Godstuff" as opposed to his creation which is made of material or spiritual stuff.  We are not nor will we ever be made of "Godstuff" as Jesus is made.

Here is an example.  You produce a child of your own.  That child has your DNA.  You take a picture of that child.  That picture is in the image of the child but does not have your DNA.  You make a statue in the image of that child.  That image does not have your DNA.  You are extremely creative and give that statue free will and characteristics like your child.  You love your creation so much that you treat it like your son and even adopt it to have similar rights as your son.  It still does not have your DNA.

Adam was made in the image of God (I believe the image talked about is more about our spirit and freewill rather than about a physical image) and God will adopt us into his family if we agree, but we are still not "begotten" or born of God.  We are made and included in the family  due to our image and our acceptance of that image.

    I hope this helps.

    Blessings

  12. Adam was made in God's image because he was originally supposed to do what Jesus had to come and finish later. He was meant to bring the light of God to the evolved population of the earth, but he botched it. We know this because Paul refers to Christ as the "second Adam" in one of his letters, and went on to state that the first Adam failed at the task. Hopefully, this will clear up Adam's place in things. This should also answer who we are begotten by. I think that we are a hybrid of the evolved (Cro-Magnons) and the Adamic race. Gen. 6 indicates that they mixed early on; the "sons of God" mating with the "daughters of men".

  13. Do you mean 'only begotten' Mommy?  If so why is there a problem?  There were no humans before Adam, so he could not be 'begotten'.  But once he had been created (as effectively as much God's son as he could be) to create another 'from dust' would be to make a new ...er species, or whatever.

The point is that Jesus needed to be human (made flesh) to make the sacrifice count surely?  And so He needed to be 'begotten'.

Of course, if you want ot go for 'one and only' then my argument fails.  Unless you agree with some Gnostics that Jesus was Adam reborn.

    .

  14. Mommy!!!!!! It's a myth!

  15. It is simple really. We are all brothers in Christ. There is no room for discrimination- black, white, male, female, adopted, not adopted. You are still thinking too much.

Nobody but God has begotten us. He is the creator of everything. Don't make me slap you with a Bible.
