If you have parents with health insurance or military benefits why WOULDN'T you go? I don't go because I barely break out anymore, it's a $30 copay + some treatments not covered and I only get 8 hours sick leave a month because I'm an adult and have to have the job that pays for these things. If I didn't have to worry about those things I would totally be going and haveperfect skin. I don't get why teenagers don't just go?

  1. well, the last time that i went the doctor told me that i should use a sum block and gave one, it was the most oily think i ever saw in my life and my skin is oily!!!so i rather take care of my skin my self!!besides there are so many good cosmetics out there!!

  2. Well I am a teen myself and my mom does have health insurance but it doesn't cover dermatology, but covers other things. And there are some people out in this world who cannot afford things like that or people would like to experiment with acne treatments from the drug store to see if it works before going to the dermatologist.

  3. because not all of us can afford it.

    Or

    Dont have one near us.

  4. just lazyness, can't GET there, don't know here one is or think its embarassing, idk.

  5. because the wait is long

your appointment with a dermatologist can be 3 months later from when you scheduled

  6. I went to a dermatologist for a couple months and had a horrible experience.  The doctor didn't listen to anything I told him: the acne medication was too strong for my skin and it dryed it out so it looked scaly and it peeled, like dandruff on my face.  I told him month after month that it was drying out my skin and he would give me a different prescription that didn't solve anything.  I finally stopped seeing him and took skin matters into my own hands, and now my face is cleaner and healthier than ever!

  7. Sometimes people do go and the products just don't work for them.  You shouldn't assume they don't go just because they still have acne. Consider yourself lucky that it worked for you.

  8. maybe they don't want to, not everyone is insecure about their skin, there's also parents to consider, if your parents told you they thought you should go, wouldn't you feel insulted.  even though i come from a military family, even with the health benefits we still have to pay for some of it, and not everyone has the money to pay for it
