Sermon on the Mount made no mention of blood for sin. After the Crucifixion Jesus did not say a thing about blood for sin.

But Jesus did say: I will have mercy, and not sacrifice. from Matt. 12:7

Jesus said to the women who weeped for him just before the crucifixion: "Weep not for me, but for yourself and your children." If Jesus did not think the crucifixion was good news for mankind, why should I?

  2. Well jeez, Lakely, they aren't going to lower themselves to read any book not part of the inspired scripture of God!  But anyway, although I am atheist and have many issues with the gospels as recorded in the Bible (or rather, the gospels chosen for the current Bible), I will say that these gospels make it clear that Jesus in fact did consider himself to be the sacrificial lamb given for the sins of the world.  And not only that, but that the sacrifice must be consumed in order to be properly received.  We cannot deny that the statements were made, at least according to those who chronicled the alleged story.
