Service in London? How Do you Rate It?

The internet cafes....the pubs and bars...the hostels....the fast food places.....

What`s the service like? compared to, say, New York or Paris or....you name it?

Good, bad or ugly? Or all three!!

  1. Like most big cities london has varying degrees of service levels. That said for the most part you can expect to be treated with courtesy and be treated well. If you are a first time visitor to London then don't veer off the main streets until you get know your bearings.


  2. The more you spend the more so-called 'service' you buy.

    Money buys service, manners less often do. IMO.

  3. Service in London varies between average and absent, especially compared to the US (with the exception of Boston where I found people both rude and condescending). Service in Paris is the same unless you are willing to attempt to speak a little French. In my experience the majority of Parisians are quite aloof and cool towards tourists.

  4. On the whole, it's rubbish.

    I was in San Francisco recently and the service there really was good, waiters were actually attentive and genuinely friendly.  Maybe they should move more people in London onto being paid in tips, might make them show a bit more interest in their jobs...
