Services v Jharkhand - http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Kumar-Shri-Ranjitsinhji-c71870 Trophy - Group C – Day 1 – Live Score and Update
Services 185 v Jharkhand 4/0 (4.0 ov) - Jharkhand trail by 181 runs with 10 wickets remaining in the 1st innings
On Saturday, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Jharkhand-c800’s AR Yadav gave his fans a marvel of a performance by taking five wickets in 20.1 overs, conceding only 30 runs with an economy rate of 1.48 against Services on the opening day of the four-day Ranji Trophy, Group C, at Palam A Ground,
Model Sports Complex, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Delhi-c780.
Jharkhand, who chose to field, were punished by their opposition in the beginning as Services’ openers NH Verma and S Chatarjee yielded 43 runs together.
Nadeem was the first to strike, as he nabbed Verma after the batsman had belted a steady knock of 21 runs off 79 deliveries.
A run later, Jharkhand struck again when Yadav had AH Gupta caught behind for nil. In his next over, the bowler struck once more to neutralize Penta Rao, who found his way back to the pavilion without scoring a run.
Losing three quick wickets brought a radical decline in the scoring rate, as the batting side was now looking to rebuild the innings than to go after the bowlers.
With skipper S Chatarjee holding his end, he was joined by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Yashpal-Singh-c98226 as Services sought redemption. However, before this partnership could pose a serious threat, the latter was dismissed by Yadav after scoring only three runs. By this time, Services
had piled 62 runs on the board.
The bowler was on a roll as he did not allow RS Paliwal to settle in and sent him back with the batsman on four runs. With five wickets down and only 66 runs on the board, Services were certainly feeling the heat as there was a strong possibility of seeing
an early end to their innings on a meagre score.
However, S Chatarjee and Sarabjit Singh moulded a gutsy partnership to unnerve the bowlers as they led their side towards 143, before Singh departed with 22 runs to his name.
A Sinha, was then the next man to walk in and he did not disappoint the fans, as he hammered a well tamed knock of 19 runs, taking the score to 180 before his demise.
With the skipper crumbling after bolstering an inspiring knock of 97 runs, Services were later bowled-out for 185.
Jharkhand then scored four runs off four overs without any loss by the end of the day.
