Mumbai 454/8d v Services 164/3

With the third and fourth day washed away, fans finally saw some action on Sunday when Mumbai resumed their innings from 380 for six. It was in Mumbai’s interest to jab a hundred more runs to leave Services in a spot of bother.
However, it was imperative for the fielding side to take an early lead by dismissing a few batsmen to halt Mumbai’s rampage.
With AP Tare on 108 and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Allan-Robert-Border-c43726 Agarkar on 113, Mumbai were in a commanding position and expecting these two batsmen to continue the partnership for as long as possible.
The two batsmen led their side towards 415, before this http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Brett-Dorey-c1194 partnership met its end on the wicket of Tare, who was dismissed by Nazar after bolstering an impressive knock of 120 runs.
Skipper Agarkar was then joined by DS Kulkarni as http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mumbai-c820 continued their innings. This batting duo took the score to 435, before Sinha dismissed Agarkar for 145. Falling just five runs short of a 150 must have been a personal disappointment for the Mumbai
skipper.
With Kulkarni smashing 20 and SN http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Imraj-Thakur-c64192 staying unbeaten on ten runs, Mumbai declared their innings with enough runs on the board to earn them a first innings-win.
Services needed a strong response after getting thrashed in the field, but they crashed and burned after posting only 14 runs on the board, suffering the loss of their first wicket with the departure of Verma for 13.
Then with 22 on the board, the batting side lost their second wicket with http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pratik-Desai-c82588 losing his stumps to Chavan for four.
AH Gupta and SR Swain then forged an impressive partnership in the middle, taking the score to 72, before Mumbai made another breakthrough by dismissing Gupta for 31.
Swain was then joined by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Yashpal-Singh-c98226 as the Services batsmen struggled to deny Mumbai another wicket till the end of the day.
