  1. To serve the ball you should start with the opposite foot that your going to hit the ball with out in front, or the foot that is on the same side as the hand that's holding the ball. You need to throw the ball up and arms length height, take a step forward, and hit the ball. When your hitting the ball, make sure the hand your not serving with is up there with the serving hand. It adds a lot of power to your serve and most of the time gets them over.

To set the ball, you need to have relaxed fingers and quick feet. You must always open your whole hand up when setting the ball. It may only come in contact with three of your fingers, but having all five fingers opened helps prevent injuries. Also, setting the ball isn't about how strong your arms are to get the ball where you need to go. It's about using the power in your legs to get the ball where it needs to go. You need to have you legs bent when setting, then as your setting the ball use your legs to push you and the ball upward and sometimes out. Almost like passing, except you can shoot all the way up if you'd like.

If you want pictures or videos go to google or youtube and type in, how to serve a volleyball or how to set a volleyball. There will be hundreds of pictures and videos to help you out.

I hope this helped, I know how difficult it is to learn these things.

  2. setting is hard to explain, but if you put your hands on your legs and just rest them, then bring them up over your head you are in the right position to set the ball..

also to help set better practice without any thumbs when your just sitting in your room or something. then use them at practice.. haha.

  3. go to www.volleyballfiles.com
