I live in California...and when I was 17, I was involved in a car accident. I was driving my boyfriend's truck and wasnt aware that he didnt have insurance. I was at fault and got sued for $7,000. However, at first I didnt know that I was being sued until DMV sent me a notification that they were suspending my license because I failed to appear in court. The attorneys that sued me said they served me court papers at an old address i used to live at....but they never served them to me. I'm now 22 years old and I'm stuck paying $150 per month to pay this $7,000 total off. Alot of people are saying that they had to of served me court papers to ME only...not to any other person or an old address. What should...or can I do?? Thanks!!

  1. If the lawyers posted the court papers at your last known address then they performed all that is required by law.~
