  1. ok so i've played volleyball for 5 years too and what i did was i took the volleyball and set it repeatedly and if you drop the ball and hit it as it's coming up it helps... hint: serve more often... spend extra time in the gym... hope this helps

  2. hey girl i had same issues although this will only be my 3rd season i play high school varsity. just lift weights and stuff ya know. the bigger the mussle the better. and just continuesly practice serving the ball as HARD as you can.... that builds musslce. but more importantly you want to have control it is better to have a controlled serve then a hard one you can't control. and the whole spin deal totally depends on where u hit the ball at. top part creates a nice down spin. if ya hit exactly at middle it creates just a floater with no spin. and if a hit towards the bottomm of the ball its more likely to be a rain bow.

  3. Strength isn't a big role in your serve. It may seem like it but its not true. Its all about technique. The faster you swing your arm the more force it puts against the ball. Also when you're tossing the ball to serve (this usually isn't recommended but i found it makes for an amazing serve if you can do it right) add a little bit of spin to ball when you toss it before you serve it. if you do the ball seems to go straight down on the other side of the court. but coaches tell you to hold the ball on your fingertips and then toss because then it doesnt spin. if you have to serve the ball while its spinning it makes it harder.

  4. well ur arm does have alot to do with it but at the vball camp that i went to today, they said that the ball goes short or long because of how fast u transfer ur weight from one foot to the other. fast=far. good luck!!
