  1. lol okay

  2. I've worked with the FFL guys before. Good guys, we've had a few former US military go over their way in the past. One came back to the US and is currently back on an Army SF ODA.

It's not the same as it was years and years ago. They've become more picky in who they take .. it's not the criminal safe haven it once was.

Like the Aussies and Kiwis, they're fun to party with.

  3. Had drinks with a couple of legionnaires at a strip club in Budapest.

    Good times.

  4. There is still a French Foreign Legion, they were sent to the gulf when the 1st gulf war was on ...............but if you happen to bump into them say sorry and walk away very quickly.......like RUN

  5. I'm no longer a serviceman but I can assure you that the "legion" is alive and kicking and can be found.........well if I told you that I'd have to kill you.

  6. I met one in the summer of 1989 in Paris. I was a US Navy Electronics Technician and he was an American guy from Wisconsin serving in the French Foreign Legion. I was doing radio work for the US delegation to the French Bicentennial Celebration and his unit was going to be in a parade.  He is the only Legionnaire from the US that I ever met. He was a Morse Code radio operator. He said that his French was just fair but his Morse code skill was excellent. It didn't matter if he was fluent in French because he just sent the Morse code letters accurately from a paper message given to him. Then wrote down accurately the message he received. He didn't need to understand everything he sent and received.

  7. I have been in the British Army for 5 years and have served in many countries. I have never come across them.

  8. as far as I know the foreign legion still exists. I belong to the American Legion and it is associated with that group, loosely.I presume they have their own agenda, and were good fighters.I never had the opportunity to meet any one in that group, but would have not made many friends if I had, language barrier and all that.
