  1. Send them a copy of her Canadian drivers license or take the copy to them in person.

  2. Absence from jury duty is justified if the person being called is in Canada.

  3. Make a copy of her Canadian passport to include her six month visitor visa. Send in with a letter and a copy of her jury summons to the clerk of the court.

  4. Different geographical areas select potential jury members from a variety of lists of people ... voters, got driver's license, living some place.

Within the rules of the state & community, there may be some regulations saying who is supposed to be eligiible, but let me put a hypothetical question to you

... let's suppose a Canadian in America was victimized by a crime ... would you want the people on the jury to be 100% citizens of USA, or would you like one or two people there to be peer of the victim?

When your wife shows up to serve, there is sure to be a question something to the effect of

"Is there any reason why you cannot do your duty here?"

If not, she should volunteer to the judge

"Your honor, I am a Canadian citizen, visiting the USA on a visa that expires .... give date ... there could be a conflict between when the federal government expects me to leave, and how long you expect me to be here on the jury ... I do not know what the rules are for non-citizens serving on US juries, I just want you to be aware that when the federal government expects me to leave, I consider the federal government to be more important than your local authority."
