Set up WEP for NetGear Wireless Router, now having problems connecting?

Good Morning, maybe you all can help!

I just recently got a new computer and all my friends strongly urged me to password protect my wireless internet! (I've had it for like 4 year unprotected) and so I did.

Now, everyday there is some kind of connection issue where it wont conect or it connects with limited accessibility.

My NetGear router is all green (green indicating everything's working properly) and all my routers are in the same place they were before getting internet access with no problems BEFORE I put in the WEP passphrase.

So, is there someting wrong here or should I just leave my network unsecured so I can stop having this annoying problem?

Thanks!!! ^_^

((P.S. BTW, I am not at any of the computers with the wireless adapters, I am at the one with the router))

  1. If u r using Vista as OS please use Open Unauthentication mode then WEP (not shared) and password u selected and check connection.

Password protection stops broacast on ur connection. so speed of ur connection will be allowed to u only. This is secured for u also.
