Seth Stubblefield occupies Men’s 100m freestyle gold – Swimming news
Seth Stubblefield of CAL-PC occupied the gold medal in Men’s 100m freestyle on the opening day of the 2013 CA TYR Fran Crippen Memorial in Mission Viejo Nadadores, California on Friday, June 7.
19-year-old Stubblefield faced a tough contest from his strongest competitor in the playoff, but with his notable, he managed to occupy the title.
Stubblefield remained only an inch ahead of his toughest challenger and surfaced on the finishing end for a silver medal by producing an effort of 50.90 seconds.
The gold medallist was chased by Sidni Hoxha of Unat-MA-VA, who was only 0.12 seconds slower and transpired on the finishing wall for second place by producing an effort of 51.02 seconds.
The second best finisher was traced by Mack Horton of Australia, who stayed 0.02 seconds behind and sprinted his way towards the finishing end for third place by producing an effort of 51.04 seconds.
The bronze medallist was chased by Joel Greenshields of Cascade, who stayed 0.18 seconds slower and settled on the finishing end for fourth place. Greenshields tried hard to make his way to the podium but finished fourth in the
event by producing an effort of 51.22 seconds.
Fifth finest spot of the event was obtained by Tommy Gossland of UBC Dolphins, who was 0.33 seconds apart and emerged on the finishing end by touching the wall with an effort of 51.55 seconds.
Sixth position of the race was obtained by Nikita Denisyak of Canyons-CA, who was 0.21 seconds slower and touched the wall with the timing of 51.76 seconds.
25-year-old Nikita was followed by Shayne Fleming of CAL-PC, who tried hard to upset his former finisher but failed to do so. With his notable efforts, Fleming remained 0.39 seconds slower and concluded his race in seventh place
by posting a time of 52.15 seconds.
Eighth position of the event was obtained by Coleman Allen of UBC Dolphins, who was 0.10 seconds apart and tapped the wall with the timing of 52.25 seconds.
Furthermore, Stubblefield expressed contentment over his victory in the 100m discipline while the winners were called upon the medal rostrum for accolades after the race.
