Setting timer for Unidaire nightstore heater

Question

How do I set the timer? It has a 24 hour circular timer on the wall with small plastic teeth that you can push towards the outside of the dial or towards the centre of the dial. I assume that this determines when you are drawing power from the grid. I'm not sure which way to push these teeth(ie inwards or outwards) so that I get night power only.
