Question:

Setting up a Home Theater - System setup?

When looking through the System Setup I get the following.

Fch= 12

Cch= 11

Sch= 8

Sbw=

Src =on

Att= off

Should these values in which are in feet, be set according to how far that speaker is from the TV or how far that speaker is from where I sit?

What are SRC and Att?

Also a room where I sit 10 feet away is it considered, Small or Medium?

Finally - I have wall speakers, how high from the floor should these speakers be located? TV is about 5 feet high w/stand.

Thank You.

  1. First, read your manual or find one online.  This will tell you what those readouts exactly stand for (Fch, SRC, Att, etc.).

    And that "distance" (if that's what it is) represents how far away the speaker is from YOU.

    And a good rule of thumb (in  most cases) is to have your front speaker's tweeters at EAR LEVEL (and all 3 at the SAME level) when your sitting down and your rear speaker's tweeters at ear level when you're standing up.

    I prefer to have 5 or 6 tower identical tower speakers in a surround set up, all sitting on the floor at the same height.  Here, like this: http://www.avtruths.com/idealsetup.html

    And here's a diagram for speaker placement: http://www.avtruths.com/speaker.html
