This is a story about my daughter, although it highlights the problems we are having with housing through the council it forgets to mention the fact that, we have seen about a mortgage and feel that sitting on the council list is helping none of us especially my daughter. Although we would be able to afford the repayments we have been told we need a 5% deposit which will be roughly £5000 as we have seen a house which is suitable for a 'Through the floor lift' for her power wheelchair which she is only allowed home if we can find suitable accommodation for her. She has to walk unsteadily around the house at present as our house is too small for her wheelchair. I would like to know how to go about setting up a sponsored sky-dive which my partner would do, or something legal in which people can make donations?? Please help.

  1. Contact a local center for independent living and find out if they offer any grants to individuals.

See if a local children's charity would serve as a fiscal agent for your fundraiser. Check religious, school and civic groups for a response. Good luck to you all.
