Setting up a wpa-psk key on bt home hub

hi guys

i have allways used wireless security however until now its only been w.e.p however i know its not as secure as it could be

how do i set a wpa-psk key...how many digits and which version is best to use(wpa,wpa2 or wpa wpa2)

and finally is wpa more secure than w.e.p otherwise its not worth doing this

any ideas guys ?

  1. yeahy wpa is much more secure. much more encryption so when making your key make it long with a mixture of letters and numbers.  on wireless security you get the choice of what type of wireless protection to have. basically wpa 2 is newer and more secure so thats always the best bet. wep an be hacked easily nowadays which is why i try and keep my network as secure as possible.

  3. Most current routers will have the option to set WPA encryption, but not all wifi adapters/laptops will support it.

    Try going WPA & see if your units will connect ok to be sure.

    Also, when in the router settings, disable the UPnP, set a superstrong administrative password for the router, and 'Save' these settings. Don't forget to write down your passwords (admin & access) in your 'unit handbook'
