I have a one phone line so when I am on the computer/internet, I cannot receive calls. I would like to get a pop up to tell me what phone number is calling in while on the internet.

  1. What you need is called MOH:

    "Modem On Hold"

    All V.92 dial-up modems have built-in MOH capability.

    Check with your Internet service provider and if they support V.92 modem service.  If so, then you are in business.

    To get CallerID to pop-up on your PC while surfing, you need to subscribe to Caller-ID service with your phone company, just as always to get Caller-ID.

    Then, with the V.92 modem, any time you have an incoming call, the caller-ID will pop-up on screen and you can put your Internet connection on Hold, while you answer the call.  When finished with the call, just switch back to surfing....
