Question:

Setting up the babies area?

by  |  earlier

My husband and I bought a changing table and were given a cradle. Both of them need to be put together. I was figuring since we were going to do that we would set up the babies area. Do you think its too early to do this. I am currently 30 weeks. When did you start to put the babies things together and get ready? Thanks

  1. Better to put the area together now while you have  a say in it, than to wait too long and hubby ends up throwing it together while you're in the hospital. Besides its easier to put most of it together if there's 2 people.

  2. no, that's not too early! i'm 28 weeks, and right now we're painting the room, but we had already had our crib and changing table up. i don't think it's ever too early to set up the nursery, the earlier the better. you never really know when baby's gonna come!

  3. I think you should do all that now, first of all because its fun! The second is because the longer you wait, the harder its gonna be for you to do things like that around the house. You should also try and get things done that are gonna be hard to do after you have your baby... Like clean out the bathroom and make room for the baby stuff, or your kitchen... have fun doing it!

  4. I started at six months because I was gaining so much weight I was afraid to wait any longer.  Go ahead.  Enjoy!!

  5. I would say you should do it as soon as you can before you go into labor or have you're husband do it.  BUT I've hurd that you shouldn't have any bumper pads or allot of toys in the crib with the baby because it can cause SIDS.  Also, make it fun and comfortable for him!

And I also learned that my daughter knows how to climb over the gate that we put in front of her bedroom door when she wakes up in the morning and at night.  And she also did it when she was sleeping in a crib. Lol!  Children are very very smart and alert.  So if this is you'r first you should get lots of books to read about babys.  I learned that if you'r pregnant and you eat Fish that it can boost the babys brain and make them communicate better!  Pretty cool, huh?

  6. I think that now is the perfect time to get the babies room together. :-) I don't know if i would even be able to wait 30 weeks. Hopefully my time will come soon. Haha

  7. i am 32 weeks and have been doing that since i was about 26 weeks:) i have like the crib changing table and little toys:)

  8. You only have about 10 wks left, the longer you wait the harder it'll be on you physically, so I would go ahead and get started.

  9. I went into labor at 26 weeks, so while I was in the hospital it was being set up by family because I thought it was necessary a baby have a place to belong even though I knew he would not be coming home for a while. With the second I realized it really wasn't that important and my second child's room wasn't set up or decorated until she was a few months old. But to answer your questionl, it isn't too early and the anticipation is so exciting!

  10. NO ITS NOT EARLY BEST TO PREPARE NOW BECAUSE WHEN YOU GET CLOSE TO DO DATE YOU ISN'T GOING TO WANT TO DO NOTHING

  11. do it now-was putting up the chest of drawers with contractions coming 3 mins apart and partner working away in Liverpool-rather be safe than sorry!

  12. i'm only 18 weeks but since we now know it's a boy i'm ready to start fixing up the nursery and really wanna buy the furniture and get that all put in the room too. it's not too early.. in my opinion it can't be too early. it's too exciting to wait and always better to be prepared just in case you go earlier than expected. congrats!!

  13. I thought the same way how early is early is it supersticious etc, i also wanted the joy of coming home from the hospital with the newborn and have had daddy done it all, but then i thought i want him at the hospital with me and i want the memories with him putting it together (cause most time directions are not read) if its a matter of superstition all that matters is nothing is finalized ex crib is put up but bed not made, change table is put up but not dressed, but then again it could be the reason from the old days that people just didn't have the money to do showers so they said it was bad luck to do this and that and this and that, I'm starting to think its mumbo jumbo but hope this helps anyways.
