Hello everyone i hope you are having a great summer. I was scheduled to go to a european country this summer but somehow it wasnt possible. I live in France. What i would like to know is, would it be possible for me to go to a european country, find a job, save money and go to college?(maybe correspondence courses)

I know i am being naive because i only have a highschool diploma so i do not have a lot to offer to the labour market, i may get exploited and be given a sh*tty job i have a speech impediment lol; but still i would like to know if it is possible. I thought about going to England or Ireland. Please tell me what you think. Where could i find accomodation? (i ran into perverts and scammers on gumtree.com and craiglist)

  1. You can also try to see if there are "Backpacker expos". Basically in Australia there are backpacker expos for those who would like to live overseas and explore different countries (mainly for the 18-30 year olds) for short periods of time. People usually gather there saying good things about their country and saying how they can help gaining visas and such.

You say you're living in France but are you French (holding French nationality)? If you are you won't need a visa moving about the EU.

You can also try making it on your own and making the rules as you go. If you go to Youth Hostels (there's a pretty good one called The Generator for about 10 pounds a night for a bed in a dormitory which houses about 8 people http://www.generatorhostels.com/ ) and they always have people there who usually know their stuff (usually the people in the dormitory can help out alot).

Get a Lonely Planet guide as well.

  2. England's full up, sorry.

  3. First get a decent education where you are. Then, armed with this, move on.

  4. Your best option, in my opinion, is to find a "Temporary Employment Agency", which is what it is called in America. It may be called something else in England or Ireland. A temporary employment agency gives you some tests to determine what your skills are. They then assign you to a job that they think you will succeed at. If the employer of a job you are assigned to likes your work, they might hire you permanently.

A high school diploma is worth quite a lot. You're better off than those who haven't one. Good luck.
