Settlement by insurance company.?

i was in a automobile accdient back in 2004 the court sent me a letter saying that the insurance company is being sued i guess.they said that it was about 13.000 people that didnt get their settlement on time so they owe these class members more money has anyone been involved in this or heard about this.

I never heard of this, but you didn't mention the insurance company so no one here would have a way to check into it.  It sounds like you "could be" a member of the class but only if you fit the description of the class in the letter.  You would have to fill out paperwork to be a member of the class.  Remember in class action lawsuits, only the attorneys make any money because they take at least 1/3 off the top of the award.  If the award is $1,000,000, the attorneys take 1/3 (about $333,333 but they may take up to 1/2 if it goes to trial) & the balance would be split among the 13,000 people (I figured that out & it would be about $51 each or $38 if the attorneys take 1/2).


  2. Haven't heard but it sounds like a class action suit.  The last class action suit i was in netted me a check for a whopping $1.38 and it took 4 years.

    In most of these suits, if you do nothing you will be included in the settlement.  Good luck and Don't spend it all in one place
