  1. Yes, you can stay there permanently once your married.

My advice would be to visit there once, before you get married.  See for yourself, if you would really want to settle there, or spend your entire life there..Then you can your bf can mutually make a decision.  You're say in all this matters as much as his does.

  2. India is reasonably easy to settle in if you have education. You wouldnt even have to do house work because for a reasonanbly cheap amount you could hire a servent to do that for you. Cars would also be cheap, etc. The only expensive part of India is that if u are in a major city then the real estate would be very expensive. However if u can afford that everything else is easy and cheap. Another problem might be language issues but I am sure that at ur job everyone would speak english and if u get a servant that knows a bit of english it should be easy to live with ur bf.

  3. This is a HUGE step. Please test the waters before you jump in. Why can't your b/f settle down in your country? Well, anyway, don't marry until you spend a month or two there, like one person suggested. The cultural difference is enormous.

  4. hi.  shall i tell you one thing...

before getting married go to india.. stay there a month or so,

if possible at your b.f 's place as a guest .. see how they live and try to adjust with them

or if they wont allow may be at some good hotel. feel the culture and country ....

give your self a chance befoe you took a big life changing decision....

There are lots of pluse and minus points..

yes you can afford everything there if you are educated and with good earning .. servent, laudry , cook, gardener ..

everything... life is easy there comaritive to western countries..

still economy is very very different.. food is very different too...

Weather depends upon the city you decide to setteled.

Delhi - Mumbai  is cosmopolitan so will be okay for you..

I am a Indian and now live in U.K since 4 years , but my all family is in India and i do have everything in my life but everyday i feel something is missing... i lost my real smile ... honestly

My hubby is very supportive and ready to live in India for me but again all these question are arise everytime in mind.

He is an Architect and the city i belongs to is very hot.. so still thinking for a big move..

But we will do the same. we will give 6 months from our life and if he doesnt like there will be back in 6 months to u.k

Thats why i said , go there ... try before you take big step and then everyday you might feel like me.... its very different and difficult when you are away from your culture and family so give your self a chance first.

and if you feel that you can live... you will be the most happy person on this planet...

Good luck , i wish you will love India..

For visa , you need to check with Indian Embassy.

email me if you need more detail...

  5. Well i dont think you should have much problems. Just apply for a vsistor visa first and then get married in india and app;ly for permanent residency..
