Archer lost his card for the mainstream European Tour due to a bad 2010 season. He is now hoping to make it back to the European Tour with a strong Challenge Tour season.
He has already clinched the Challenge Tour season-opener Pacific Rubiales Colombia Classic.
The 40-year-old Archer said, "I nearly didn’t play because on Thursday morning my left shoulder was frozen. I managed to get round in level par playing with half a swing, then I saw the physios here on Thursday night who sorted it out".
"I played with painkillers on Friday and thankfully I’ve been pain-free for the weekend. It’s great to start the season so well"”.
Another duo South African Justin Walters and Englishman Gary Lockerbie finished for joint fifth.
Lockerbie suffered a disastrous round on the final day when he succumbed to a terrible double-bogey five at par-three, 2nd.
He fell for two more bogeys on the back nine and closed his round with a disappointed one-over, 72.
He has played well over the weekend and could have easily landed the title if it was not for the double-bogey on the front.
Another Englishman Jason Barnes played a superb round on the final day at Muthaiga Golf Course, carding a splendid five-under, 66 to finish for an outright seventh.
His bogey-less round consisted of five birdies in all.
None of the local Kenyan players were able to perform well in the event, despite of the high-profile presence of the President Honourable Mwai Kibaki.
Dismas Indiza was the only player who broke par, carding a humble one-under, 70 to finish for joint 22nd. The local players attracted huge crowds outside the ropes.
Some 65 players were able to make the halfway cut in the event, placed at three-over after the culmination of second round.
The tour will now return with its star-studded event in France, the ALLIANZ Open Côtes d’Armor Bretagne, which will be staged at the picturesque and historic Golf Blue Green de Pléneuf Val André,Pléneuf,France.
The event is scheduled from May 10-13, and will have a total purse of €160,000.
