Question:

Sevenoaks or London?

Hey, I'm currently trying to make my mind up on an issue with two, very different choices!

I may soon be accepting a job in Sevenoaks, Kent and I'm trying to decide whether I want to live in London and commute out; or live in Sevenoaks (or nearby)

Here's a little about me: I'm 22 and very much into going out to modern bars and clubs; socialising and stumbling home in the wee hours. London would give me this, Sevenoaks would not.

I'm a home owner and have about £225k I could put into buying a house. If I live in Sevenoaks, I get so much more than London.

I'm an artist and photographer in my spare time; and my small flat in cambridge has held me back from continuing my hobbies, something I want to get around after my move. I want to spend a lot of my spare time in London for inspiration, galleries, theatre etc.

If I lived in London, obviously I'd like to live somewhere pleasant, and a short commute to work via london bridge station (I believe the trains are most frequent from there)

Does anyone have any experience or ideas on this that could help me?

Thanks in advance!

  1. I would say Sevenoaks for many reasons,

    1) you'll get more house/flat for you're money

    2) convenience

    3) If you ever want to go into London you can get a short train journey in

    4) You won't be trapped in the hustle and bustle (which I love but you may not)

    5) if money wasn't a problem I would say London but as it is it will just cause aggrow and you won't get much of a place to live in

    Hope This Helps

    Sam (A Londoner)

  2. well lets see 225k have no idea what that will buy over there nowdays but if it was me i would move out of the city and just throw wild parties at the new place

  3. if your in london and travelling by car u won't get to your job ontime

bus or train, those r fine, otherwise move nearer to your job
