Question:

Seventeen magazine subscription? ?

so today i entered the freebies sweepstakes and i wanted to try the free copy of seventeen so i chose yes to:

Would you also like us to send you a risk-free trial issue of Seventeen?

If you like what you see, you'll get 11 more issues (12 in all) for just $ 7.97 — that's 78% less than others pay on the newsstand. If not, return the bill marked "cancel" and keep the first issue with no obligation. You'll still be eligible to win the sweepstakes.

then i get an email saying i ordered 12 issues for $17.97:

Term: 12 Issues

Amount: $17.97

so when i get the first magazine, can i keep it for free, or do i have to pay for it? and, if i write cancel on the bill, will it work and cancel my subscription?

and why is the price $10 more?

  1. You can call seventeen to have them adjust your subscription charge to the correct advertised price. Since it's a trial issue offer, you can just mark the bill "cancel" and send it back if you no longer wish to subscribe. You'll keep the magazine they send and owe seventeen nothing as stated in the terms and conditions of the trial subscription offer. Just make sure you send the bill marked cancel promptly. I have subscribed to trial subscription to various magazines and sending the bill marked "cancel" works.
