Several local golfers make the cut at the RBC Heritage
Most of the local players have successfully made the cut after the second round of the RBC Heritage, on Friday, April 13, 2012.
Brian Harman, Will Claxton, Kyle Stanley and Mark Anderson are some of the local players at the Harbour Town Golf Links in Hilton Head, South Carolina.
The players made the tournament more appealing, by successfully making the cut in the second round. Their scores were impressive, however, Colt Knost's bogey-free round took him to the top.
Another local golf player, Blake Adams, missed the cut by scoring a 146 after two rounds. The minimum criterion to make the cut was 145 and those who finished below it, missed the chance to play the upcoming two rounds.
Harman finished at par in the first round of the RBC Heritage. He shot three birdies and bogeys in total. Then in the second round, he made a quick start and scored three early birdies.
Later he made three bogeys, a double-bogey and added three birdies to the scores. He recorded a 1-under 70 and tied for the 24th position after two rounds.
Claxton shot a 142 and finished at par on Friday. He played well in the first round and made four impressive birdies. However, he also carded three bogeys, which took his scores down.
He faced hurdles while scoring in the second round and made three birdies, two bogeys and one double-bogey. He recorded a 1-over par and landed on the 35th position after two rounds.
Stanley is currently at the 51st leaderboard position. He scored a 1-over 143 and made four birdies and four bogeys in the first round, finishing at par.
On Friday, he added three more birdies, but also carded a double-bogey and a bogey. He is also lacking behind in scoring well on his home course.
Anderson has also made the cut in the RBC Heritage and scored a 2-over 144 in two rounds. His scoring is inconsistent so far and he has faced tough rivals in South Carolina.
He made seven birdies, seven bogeys and a double-bogey on Thursday and Friday. He finished tied for the 56th position after two rounds.
The competition is tough and all the local players are facing a tough time on the course. They are not delivering their best, as they are not able to impress the crowd by securing higher positions on the leaderboard.
