Question:

Several questions about nunchuks?

I'm 15 years old and a 2nd degree black belt in Taekwondo. The area I'm strongest in is weapons, nunchuks especially. I'm the fastest in my class, and I've done many demonstrations with our team recently. I thought I was pretty amazing until I started taking a look at some videos on the internet, and now my eyes have been opened to how much I REALLY know. Which isn't much, compared to what I've seen.

Are there any free online tutorials for advanced nunchuk techniques you recommend? (I'm mostly looking for flashy demonstration stuff, but "real" techniques are also appreciated.)

Also, I've heard some things about ProChuks or SpeedChuks or something? If anyone uses them, how do they work for you?

Last question: what kind of nunchuks would you recommend? Right now, I use hollow aluminum with a chain. I'm thinking of switching to lightweight wood with a rope. What's best for speed?

Sorry this was such a long question. Thanks to everybody in advance!

  1. #1 www.whackyonozoff.com

#2 They keep hitting me when I spin them and I don't know why, they're probably defective or something.

#3 The best are actually made of two rancid sausages connected by a string of entrails called upchucks. Nobody will want you to compete at their competition with those bad boys.

  2. Well I was using the aluminum with chain and decided to use oak and string, and my head still hurt's. sorry It's not the answer you were looking for but once you get hit in the back of the head with oak sticks youll wish you stayed with the aluminum.

  3. They are actually called nunchaku. If you are attending a good school, your instructor should be able to teach you or at least direct you to someone who can.
