Severe Cramps While Running (timed)

I have to do a timed 2-mile run in 12:00 minutes or under for highschool soccer team. Durning my training for running i get really bad cramps in my stomach just to the right or the left of my belly button.

Any help is apprictiated

  1. make sure you are hydrated so keep drinkin water before you run.

    eat a banana about 30 minutes before you start and try not to eat much before your run.

    if you get a cramp while your running, you have to slow down your pace [[dont walk!!]] and take really deep breaths and use your hand to massage the cramp out. it will eventually go away, then you can pick up your pace again.

    try to ignore the pain. you will get to a point where you dont feel it anymore.

  2. i suggest that you drink enough water before so that you peed it out before you start running. That way your body has been so fully nourished that its releasing the excess, and waffles, fruit, or pancakes without the butter are good things to eat about 45 min before you run. And when you have a cramp while you're running push through the pain, and eventually it subsides, and as you start running more, you don't get as many cramps. gl!

  3. if you ate right before you ran that would be the issue.

  5. their side aches or side stitches, do mroe core workouts to help strengthen your abs or you can hold the side that it is hurting on and with your other arm, raise your hand up, then breathe in slowly, usually that helps.
