Severe Knee Pain Help?

I am 31 weeks pregnant, and let me mention I already went to the ER and the doc there said he would not help me cause I was pregnant. Anyways, I had knee surgery when I was 18 (now 26) to repair an ACL tear. Well now my knee is completely locked and I cannot move it. It hurts so so very bad. I feel like there is a piece of cartilage or something stuck in my joint. Anyways I have a couple of questions, is it dangerous to have an MRI done while pregnant? Second I read an article about a pregnant woman that had the same thing happen and they did surgery with an epidural type anesthesia. Has anyone ever heard of doing this? Please help me. I am suppose to follow up with another doc tomorrow. Also, now I feel numbness and tingling in my foot. Also it is real cold. I am freaking out.

  2. It is considered safe to have a MRI while pregnant,  we frequently do scans of the baby when ultrasound finds a problem. MRIs are also done on pregnant women who are suffering pain.  Whether or not they will want to do the scan right away or wait until you deliver and surgery would be safer.   The Doctor will do a physical exam of your knee to see if there are clinical signs that indicate a MRI to be necessary.

    Good Luck
