Need some reasurance from other mums that everything is ok and what im experiencing is normal. Iv had really bad cramps in my abdominal area for about 4 days now it makes it hard to sit down and im walking around doubled over. I had a scan at 14 weeks as I was involved in an RTA and all was ok. Has anyone else had these cramps at 16 weeks im just hoping that its growing pains...

  1. I'm 15 weeks 4days pregnant with my first and iv been experiencing exactly the same for about 3 days.it almost feels like severe period pain. i find if i sit on a hard surface such as the floor it sends sharp shooting pains too, my midwife last week said to expect twinges but not to worry its just everything stretching. but i was worried as well. its reassuring to know someone else isgoingn threw the same at the same time

    hope this helps.

  2. having those cramps isnt really that normal as you describe, i suggest you go to  the doctors now if there not open go to the hospital i dont want to worry you if its not needed but this may sound like you may be miscarring

  3. You need to go the doctor really soon and have it checked out, the only person that i know that had really bad cramps when they were pregnant miscarried, so i'd go get checked out!

  4. hey if it feels like your belly is rock hard and like its stretching then its just braxton hicks there just contractions of the uterus making more room for the baby the further you get the more intense they become....

But if you are feeling strong period pains then call ur midwife or the hospital where u are having bubs just to rule it out and its better to be safe then sorry...

    Good Luck love

  5. Severe cramping during pregnancy is a reason for concern at any gestation. I would suggest you call your OB or labor & delivery  for some advice. They may want you to come in for monitoring just to be sure everything is ok.

  6. I really, really hesitated to answer this question, but when that happened to me, I miscarried.  I hope that's not what's happening, but I suggest you go to the hospital.
