Severe throbbing pains in the upper abdomen?

my friend always complains of of really bad upper abdominal pain. she doesn't want to go to the doctor. wut is it and wut can she do to make it go away??

Has she had gallstones before ? Fever ? Either way she should call her Dr's office for advice.
