Now for the details. It began about a week and a half nearly two weeks ago. First I thought the small amount of itch had t'do with the fact I hadn't shaved in awhile, so it was just my hairs. I shaved though, and it keeps getting worse! The itching is located on the outside of my v****a, on the lips and where my legs meet, and yesterday it's started going up the crack of my butt. :( Which is actually the easiest part to itch and I'm actually grateful for that!

Nowadays I can barely sleep because of the itch! I got four hours of unrestful sleep last night, tossing and turning the entire time and lord the itch is HORRIBLE, it -stings- so bad I -have- to itch it or go insane!

I've been trying some cortizone 10 but it's not working anymore. I can't find vagisil anywhere at all! It can't be a STD, my last sexual act was months ago and I've only had one partner who is clean as can be. This morning I couldn't sleep so I got in the shower and shaved ALL the hair away so I can try and see what's going on, all I managed to see is a couple of what looks to be swollen red areas where some of the itching is worse, mainly right where my legs meet.

My only comfortable position is right now at the computer, I'm sitting in a folding chair and I can actually feel a little normal now except for this nagging heat coming from between my legs where it itches. If I try to lay down or sit in a recliner or walk it begins again!

It's literally driving me insane and sometimes itches so badly I almost cry. There's been no changes in my routine, no added detergents or soaps or anything, it just kinda came outta nowhere!

Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaalp meeeeeeeeeeee!

  1. Sounds like you have ingrown hairs.  Shaving can cause this, especially right at the crease by your leg.  If it's really bothering you this much, then you should go see a doctor to get something to treat it and in the meantime stop shaving and try not to scratch - you're just going to increase the irritation.

If it's not razor burn or ingrown hairs, then you definitely need to see your doctor to get this treated.

  2. If you can stand the wait, just stop shaving entirely until the hair is more than a quarter inch long... if the itch persists even still, then you'll *know* it has nothing to do with shaving or with newly-growing hair, and you should be talking to a doc about it.

  3. stop with the cortisone cream.  in all likelihood, you have an external yeast infection.  it will not spread to your kidneys!

you should go to a doctor and have it diagnosed.  the doctor will probably prescribe diflucan.  DO NOT buy OTC treatments.  you don't know for sure that you have a yeast infection, and they may not work anyway.

if you can't make it to the doctor right away, you can try using yogurt.  it doesn't work for everyone with yeast infections, but many women swear by it.  apply plain, no-sugar-added yogurt to all of your itchy parts, also pushing some into your v****a, two or three times a day.  the coldness of the yogurt with give you some relief, but the friendly bacteria in the yogurt is what provides the real relief.  if the itchiness doesn't stop in 2-3 days of that, call your doctor!

*btw - don't waste your money on vagisil.  all it does is temporarily numb the itching.  it will not cure any kind of infection.

  4. It could be a yeast infection. those are the worst and you should definitely go to the doctor right away or it can spread to your kidneys and cause another infection
