The former Sevilla man has clarified that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604-Real Madrid encounters are title deciders, but the Seville derby has even more intensity and ferocity.
High flying Real Betis couldn’t have wished for a better time to face their fierce rivals, Sevilla. Betis, currently 5thand with a game in hand, travel to Sevilla to grace a match that often has bragging rights on stake.
Sevilla hasn’t had the finest of starts to the new campaign and find themselves in 10th position, having played the same number of games as their cross-town rivals.
In terms of recent dominance, Betis have been pegged back by their neighbours to get hold of the local superiority, but this time around, the Andalucian city is set to witness a great match as Sevilla no longer carries the favourites tag, and will have to
work hard in order to gain anything from the match.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Dani-Alves-c9869, a former Sevilla favourite, has had the experience of the ferocious Seville derby from his time at Sevilla. He believes that the Clasico between Real Madrid and Barcelona might be telecasted and has the hype, but no one should undermine the importance
and contention of the Andalucian derby as honours are at stake whenever the two sides meet.
Alves also stated that the atmosphere of the stadiums makes the derby even more competitive, and it may well be more heatedly contested than the Real-Barca fixtures.
"They may not be as important as a Barca-Real in terms of the quality of players, the spectacle on offer, and the media coverage, but they are passionate games,"
The Brazilian also shed light on the Catalan’s title charge and described their 8-point lead over Real Madrid as a healthy one.
However, he also believes that complacency often follows such situations and things in football change very quickly.
The Barcelona defender also insisted that his team were to stay focused in order to keep hold of their significant advantage.
"I always remember Pep Guardiola's first year. We had a 12-point gap, we thought we had it in the bag, and we had to go to the Bernabeu and win to prevent them from closing to within a point. Also, Madrid are a stronger team now."
Barcelona kept hold of their 8-point lead on Real Madrid as both the sides cruised to victory in their 12th round of fixtures yesterday.
