France international, Julien Escude could be in for a return to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sevilla-FC-c40484
France international, Julien Escude has been under contract at Spanish La Liga side Sevilla FC since 2006. Before arriving at the Andalusian club, Escude was playing for Dutch giants Ajax Amsterdam whom he had joined in the summer of 2003 from Stade Rennais.
However, the centre-back’s career has come to a stand-still situation at Sevilla. From 2006 to 2010, the Frenchman has made just 12 appearances and the current campaign has been no different.
Under contract at the club until 2013, it is clear that Escade’s contract at the Spanish side won’t be extended.
Cadena Ser reports that Sevilla are keen on offloading the defender as soon as the summer transfer window opens. The Iberian media has also announced that two Ligue 1 teams have already started making inquiries for the player: LOSC Lille and Olympique de
Marseille.
Recent arrival of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mauro-Cetto-c24967 materialised because LOSC Lille wanted a replacement for the injured Marko Basa. However, the Argentine has arrived on a loan move and Les Dogues are keen on having a permanent centre-back in the squad.
Furthermore, the northerners could also lose the services of Aurelien Chedjou to Italian Serie A side Juventus in the summer. This means that the reigning Ligue 1 champions would be looking for a new defender or two come the next summer transfer window.
Marseille on the other hand, are also keen on having one more centre-back in their ranks when the summer transfer window opens. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Souleymane-Diawara-c33850 has failed to convince and Stephane M’Bia’s keenness on playing in the midfield means that Didier Deschamps
would be requiring a new defender.
Escude is a player of vast experience and will surely be available at a reduced price which means that both Lille and Marseille would be trying to attain his services for a few years. At the age of 32, Escude might not have the legs to run anymore but his
experience would certainly be treasured at any Ligue 1 club.
