The derby fixture for FC Sevilla against Betis Sevilla concluded with a staggering score sheet of 5-1 in the former's favour. This will hopefully be the silver lining for the hosts' recent patch of losses which had sadly
left the team in a bit of a downward spiral.
The home side got off to a dream start when the Betis goal keeper botched a simple clearance from his area and the Arsenal import Reyes pounced on the opportunity and scored for his new club.
Minutes later Fazio landed a goal with a well aimed header off a free kick which incremented their lead to 2-0 in under 10 minutes of the start of the game.
The Rojiblancos were dominating the opposition hard and created several pressurizing passages of offensive play. Which finally resulted in Reyes scoring again, 33 minutes in to the game, this time with a close range attempt.
To make the situation even more one sided Fazio scored a second goal off yet another header making the score line 4-0. They went in to half time with the best imaginable start to a game.
The same cannot be said for the team on the receiving end of this blitzkrieg. Betis was in a bad position and needless to say their manager was not in a good mood.
The team must have caught a lot of flak from him during the break which explains why they were able to shift the momentum slightly back in their favour during the second half. Even scoring a self assuring goal through Ruben http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Castro-c8590.
Also during the second-half of the game further misfortune occurred when Ruben Perez was sent off for deliberately handling the ball, this being his second yellow of the match. This however did not dampen the spirits of the team
and they kept on pushing until the very end.
That is until Rakitic for Sevilla took advantage of some haphazard defending and scored the final game of the match. Sevilla won the match convincingly and showed a new found confidence after the triumph. Sevilla is currently one
spot behind their sworn nemisis Betis Sevilla on the League Table.
