Seville FC looking to make move for Stade Malherbe Caen star Youssef El-Arabi – Ligue 1 news
Reports in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 suggest that Spanish la Liga side, Seville FC are looking to sign Moroccan international Youssef El-Arabi from Ligue 1 side, Stade Malherbe Caen.
The 24-year-old striker was in phenomenal form for Caen in the now-concluded 2010/2011 Ligue 1 season where he scored 17 goals and provided four assists. Though Caen finished 15th in the league after a promising start to the campaign, it seems
that the youngster has done enough to attract interest from abroad. El-Arabi was the architect of Caen’s survival in the Ligue 1 but it seems that the Normandy-based club will have to do without the services of the Caen-born player next season.
The departure of Luis http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ramon-c30533 Sanchez Pizjuan this summer. The striker’s departure would leave the side
with only one experienced striker in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Álvaro-Negredo-c5294. In order to make the attack more potent ahead of the 2011/2012 La Liga season, Los Nervionenses are looking to sign the highly-rated Caen striker this summer.
Serie A side Genoa are also interested in the services of the Moroccan international. However, Seville would be playing the Europa League next season, which would be more attractive for the Moroccan. Reports in French media suggest that the youngster is
more inclined on playing in the English Premier League but for now, no English club has been linked to the striker.
El-Arabi started his professional football career at USON Mondeville and after making just four appearances for the CFA 2 club, the youngster signed for Caen in 2008. Since his arrival at the Stade http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michel-c25453 d’Ornano, El-Arabi has scored 28 goals in 75 appearances
for the Normandy club. This season, the youngster was an integral part of Caen helped pulling Caen clear of the relegation zone.
Reports suggest that Caen would be willing to let go of their prized asset if they receive 9 million Euros. Though the amount is steep for a player who has only recently made an impact in Ligue 1, some might suggest that it is worth a risk for Seville who
are in dire need of a quality striker ahead of the start of the next season.
