Seville cut to co-favouritism for the Totesport Dante Stakes – Horse Racing news
It has been reported that the racehorse Seville has been cut to co-favouritism for the upcoming Group 2 event.
This announcement was made on Sunday. The Group 2 event is being looked forward to by many of the prominent trainers since this race, being flaunted with the name of Totesport Dante Stakes is a warm up for the upcoming Derby.
The event has been scheduled to take place on Thursday this week at the York racecourse. It will be a particularly interesting race since it will be featuring the encounter of four of the most dominant Investec Derby contenders.
Seville is one of those champion racehorses. He trains under the care of the famed trainer Aidan O’Brien.
Talking to the correspondents about the next meeting of the racehorse (at York) while he was at Leopardstown, the champion trainer was reported as saying, “Seville runs in the Dante but Roderic O’Connor is unlikely to go and will probably wait for the Irish
2000 Guineas or Irish Derby.”
It has been revealed that the ever-famous sponsors, Stan James has made the three racehorses’ co-favourite for upcoming York meeting. All these three contenders will be going out for the race as 9-4 favourites. These three colts are Seville, Carlton House
and World Domination.
Seville was initially being quoted as an 11-4 favourite while World Domination was previously at odds of 2-1.
On the other hand, the other sponsors including Victor Chandler has also cut down on the odds of Seville. They also now quote him as a 9-4 favourite.
Aidan O’Brien will be saddling two racehorses in this event, the other being World Domination.
As for the weather conditions, reports have revealed that a total of 21mm of rainfall has fallen at the York racecourse on Sunday morning and more showers are expected on Monday. This has thus led to going being described as good to soft. The clerk of the
racecourse, William Derby, initially described the going as good, good to firm in places before it rained during the early hours of Sunday morning.
