The Andalusia-based club has fixed the price on the Bosnian international who could be set to join Olympique de Marseille this summer
A few days back, Ligue 1 outfit, Olympique de Marseille were hotly linked with a move for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Emir-Spahic-c12523. The 31-year-old centre-back is currently under contract at Spanish La Liga outfit Seville FC but could leave Andalusia
this summer.
At the age of 31, the former Montpellier Herault man has quickly established himself as an important part of Seville’s starting XI. However, this does not mean that he is non-transferable. Reports in local newspaper, Estadio Deportivo claim that like all
players, Spahic also has a valuation and that Seville will be willing to let go of him if their valuation is met.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-de-Marseille-c40127 have been following the player’s progress for quite some time and in order to sign Spahic, Vincent Labrune and co will have to pay Seville 2 million euros. Los nervionenses president, Jose Maria del Nido is not against the idea of
saving some money and might also consider getting rid of a player whose reputation certainly precedes him.
Many people criticise Spahic for being too hard on the man and the Bosnian has now become a victim of his attitude on the field.
However, despite the price being an affordable one, Les Phoceens still need to free up more cash. Following the sale of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alou-Diarra-c5259 to West Ham United, it is likely that Cesar Azpilicueta and Stephane Mbia will leave the Velodrome.
These departures will give the club enough cash to finance a move for Spahic.
However, it still remains to be seen if signing Spahic would turn out to be a good move. Besides the financial aspect related to his wages, the Bosnian international will certainly be a tough defender if he chooses to make a return to Ligue 1 football.
Currently, Marseille lack a lot of depth in the defence and Elie Baup will not be against the idea of having an experienced defender in the squad who could even pair up with young Nicolas N’Koulou whose regular partner, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Souleymane-Diawara-c33850 is out injured.
