Sewing Lessons for beginners?

I want to start making my own clothes, but I am very inexperienced on sewing machines. Are there any good classes or books out there that could help?

If you're into making your own clothes, have you've thought about pursuing a career in fashion design? If you're wanting lessons on how to sew, I do know that FIDM has beginner classes to teach people how to sew better.  The school has a great reputation in the fashion industry and has great connections with large fashion companies. My friends graduated from FIDM and they really loved the school. They told me that FIDM is known for their fashion design program and that a lot of famous fashion designers graduated from FIDM. If you're graduated from high school or if you want to start planning your future career, you could contact an adviser from the school and see what your options are and which program is a better fit for you.
