  1. I agree with BooBoo above. Adding on a train, especially a long one takes some sewing skill. Also remember with a long trian comes weight. Be sure to wear a bridal slip or when you walk the front of the dress is going to go inbetween your legs

  2. The easiest thing to do would be to construct a detachable train. You would make the dress and train separately and figure out how to pair the two when complete. You would make the train attach underneath the band on the dress you selected. It will usually attach with buttons or hook and eyes.

Also be definition, isn't a cathedral train really long anyway? It think they are around 6-8 feet. So, if you want one that long the scalloped edge will show nicely and you will need a lot of fabric.

Are you making this dress yourself or having a seamstress make it? If a seamstress is making it, go over all the details of what you want and be sure she knows exactly what you want. It should not be very hard to do.

If you do not want a detachable train, the entire bottom of the dress would need to be reconstructed and that will require some skill and a seamstress.

I came across this site and it explains the different "bustles" which you would need to consider if you want to put your train up and explains each one. There may be more info on the site for you too if you want to browse around it...

    Congrats and good luck. :)
