I have a AEG sewing machine, and I dont know what differetn pattern selection dials for different materials?

Like what nr do i have it on to use nylon etc?

The MANUEL doesn't help at all!

Is their a page on the internett that gives me a rough idea?

If you can post a clear picture of the machine and its dials, I may be able to help.  However, I've not met a machine yet where you select the stitch type and size by the fiber.  Using your example of "nylon", I'd use a triple stitch, fairly long, if I were making something out of 1000 denier cordura nylon -- it's the stuff used to make backpacks and luggage.  I'd use a small zigzag, maybe 2 mm long, 3 mm wide, for making a nylon tricot slip.  I'd use about a 3 mm straight stitch for shirt weight nylon supplex.

    In general, you pick the stitch for the function needed -- stretch,  covering edges, basic sewing, buttonhole, etc. -- and the length and width by the thickness of the fabric.  Thin fabrics generally need shorter stitches than thicker ones.  Tightly woven fabrics generally need longer stitches than less tightly woven.
