  1. technically s*x is how you identify yourself, i.e. sexuality, and gender is what biologically you are (whether youve got man parts or lady parts)

  2. it's the same it's just saying are you a male or female like on a application you know the world has to use words that sometimes we don't know

  3. Same thing...

  4. s*x and gender mean the same thing in the sense of male or female but thats it.

  5. g*y marriage gender-neutral marriage equal marriage L*****n marriage same-s*x civil marriage marriage equality homosexual marriage single-s*x marriage and same-gender marriag?

    No No NO

  6. Same :]

  7. differnt

  8. Same! your gender is your s*x and visa versa.

  9. DIFFERENT!!!

    s*x is biological

Gender is what you identify with

  10. Yes. They are the same thing. Except, the word "s*x" can used to mean more than one thing.

    ~kisses~

  11. I think it is and should still be grammatically correct to use them interchangeably as English speakers have for centuries,

If you mean anatomical gender you can specify that, If you mean gender identity you can specify that but the newfangled s*x/gender distinction in English seems forced to me.

  12. Exactly the same. Unless of course your speaking intimately between two people.

  13. yep that's why some clever ppl write on application form:  s*x: 3 times a week

  14. Same.

The term s*x also determins what gender you are, aswell as sexual intercourse.

  15. its like chocalte and vanilla....

    its the same...but different.

its ice cream but it tastes different(different exprience)

  16. When I have s*x, it is with someone of a different gender.

Both "s*x" and "gender" may refer to the maleness or femaleness of a person.

  17. Want to have some gender?

  18. the same, s*x usually asks male or female but gender sometimes adds in transvestite n stuff

  19. gender is between the ears, s*x is between the legs.

  20. s*x is the biological term for male or female. Gender is a sociological term meaning the roles that males or females take.

  21. Different, TOTALLY different. For all the reasons described above. I can't believe so many g*y and L*****n people on here are so adamant that it is the same. Does anyone remember what the T in LGBT stands for? If transgendered people can't even get support from the g*y community where can they get support? We should be standing up for each other.

  22. different

  23. DIFFERENT....s*x is your XY/XX chromosome....your gender and gender roles are not necessarily related to your biology.

  24. Of course both terms carried a similar meaning; define whether that living being is a male or female.

The term, s*x, most likely uses in a scientific way, such as experiment, study, biologically, medically, etc, but the term, gender, refers as socially use, daily use. It is rare for people to ask other about the s*x of whoever in their daily talking, they will say, what is the gender of whatever? In contrast, doctor will use the term, s*x, in any necessary circumstances.

  25. same

  26. Completely different.

"s*x" refers to what a person is anatomically--male or female. "Gender" refers to what a person is mentally--male, female, androgynous..etc.

At least that's what I've always thought they meant...

  27. same but gender is politer

  28. Different. All the people that have answered the same have no clue what it is like to wake up everyday of your life and know you are in the wrong body. My birth s*x was male, my birth gender was and always has been female.
