s*x - how to tell my mom?

Me and my (now ex) boyfriend are more than likely going to be getting back together.... But I lost my virginity to him. I'm 15 and I've always been a smart girl, which is why i was considering birth control for extra protection. I don't know how to bring this across to my mom. She's always been open with me and told me if I was going to cross that line to tell her and she WOULD put me on the pill... But she already does NOT like my (ex) boyfriend, and I don't know how she would react to this news. I'm afraid she might think I'm too young. But I'm a sexual being with sexual needs that need to be met. Is it wrong to be having s*x at this age? Safe s*x that is... And how should I bring this up with my mom.
