  1. Unless the person is DEMANDING s*x in return for favors or blackmail or whatever... IT IS NOT SEXUAL HARASSMENT.

9 times out of 10, what i hear being called 'sexual harassment' is nothing but stupid banter and relaxed attitudes.

I work in a male dominated industry and if I lost my goddamned mind every time I heard a trucker talk about p*ssy or the hot t*ts on the chick at the site then I would have just killed myself by now.

TRUE sexual harassment is when there is inappropriate touching involved...

TRUE sexual harassment is when one person asks another person for s*x and, after refusal, does not take "no" for an answer and continues to HARASS the person they are after.

Jokes... Banter... Male Bonding... whatever it is... If it is just some people talking... IT IS NOT SEXUAL HARASSMENT.

I am SICK AND TIRED of walking in to a room full of men and having the WHOLE GODDAMNED PLACE go silent because *GASP* a woman walked in and they are ALL scared to death of a lawsuit and ending up being sentenced to bullshit 'sensitivity training'.

I am an adult human... The fact that I am female doesn't make me any different, any better or worse, then anyone else on earth.

Treating me as if I am a delicate little flower that will wilt at the sound of a "Naughty Word" is INSULTING to me.

I wish to be treated like ANY OTHER PERSON and when people don't feel free to BE THEMSELVES, for better or worse, specifically because of my gender, that is not being "Sensitive", that is being demeaning.

We need to have DE-Sensitivity Training Classes... Classes where we learn to STOP focusing on the race, s*x, and sexual orientation of a person and learn to stop being so goddamned sensitive about what others say and do.

No where in the Constitution does it say that you have the right to NEVER BE OFFENDED.

By telling us that we need to be "Sensitive" and treat some people 'different' the other people is just pouring accelerant on the flames of bias and bigotry!

Learning to deal with the fact that some men like to talk about p*ssy and that some people are a page right out of a stereotype hand book doesn’t mean that THEY should be catered to because something might ‘hurt their inner child’.

Grow some skin… Grow a brain… and most importantly… GROW THE F*CK UP and learn to act like an adult and accept reality…  And the FACT about reality is that it isn’t always padded in foam for your protection.

By stressing being “Sensitive” you are SLOWING DOWN THE EVOLUTION OF OUR SOCIETY AND OUR SPECIES.

We need people that can COPE in the real world… Not more sexual harassment lawsuits because some r****d made a crack about Tiffy in Accounting's red thong…

    GROW UP.

  2. Because people are too intimidated by their employers to speak up. They're probably afraid they'll be fired for speaking the truth or not getting raises or promotions in the future.

  3. I've seen sexual harrassment complaints handled by a simple suspension to re-assignment to termination of the victim.

Politics becomes a huge factor in sexual harrassment complaints. Does the chief want to admit that people he put in command should'nt have been put there, making him look bad? Does the city want to admit they made a bad decision by promoting the chief? What type of discipline and work history does the victim have? Is she credible or just pissed off because she cant do her job and is being criticized for it?

Most victims dont want to cause any trouble for anyone, especially themselves. They'd rather endure the harrassment and hope it goes away and they can move on. Unfortunately, sometimes they cant and their refusal to participate with the co-worker, usually someone in some type of authoritive position (Training officer, Officer in Charge, Sgt., Commander or anything else-I've seen them all) leads to their demise as a successful police officer.

Ultimately, Human Resources should not have the police department investigate itself. You can guarantee that any complaints against the administration will be unfounded (no witnesses, no evidence, no corroborating statements) and the investigation will be steered the entire way. Human Resources should either conduct their own investigation or hire someone from the outside to do it. Then, they will hopefully take the appropriate action, regardless of who looks bad, and drop the ax wherever it deserves to be dropped.

The other thing they could do is never allow short cops with mustaches to be promoted no matter how much they kiss a55.
