okay so I'm 17, and at work there is a man (well over 50) who keeps touching my hair, and tickling me. Also, we were alone and he kept calling me baby. Is this sexual harassment. I told my father, and he is so mad he is going to up there tomorrow.

  1. First thing to do is to TELL this guy that you don't appreciate the attention, and that there is no reason for him to touch you and it makes you uncomfortable.  If it continues, you discuss it with your boss.

Daddy going down there, mad, is not necessarily going to be "helping".  Is he a hothead?  Is he likely to assault this guy?  Will it help you if your dad gets arrested?  Will your boss find that your dad barging in and being disruptive makes you working there a liability?

You're only 17.  but you'll need to fend for yourself sometime.  Always, always, TELL the offending person that their behavior is unwelcome.  If you just get embarrassed, or smile or giggle nervously, they could interpret it as assent.  Say "Please don't touch me", with a serious look on your face.  They should get the message.

  2. Yes, it is...and it is illegal. Don't take matters into your own hands. Contact the local police department and ask them what you should do.

  3. If it makes you feel uncomfortable in a sexual way ~ yes it is.
